White Wednesday Search

Hubby and I visited an antique mall last weekend.
I searched high and low for all things white. Here is the whittled down version of the pictures I took. It was fun and inspiring.
I hope your day is fun and inspirational, too.
Only one more day until Thanksgiving!

I brought home an old squeak toy!

For the boys, of course...

This tiny button garland on wire inspired me to get home and do the same.
I'll upload the pictures of it on Vintage Christmas Monday :+)

Catholic Ephemera

While searching for decorating/projecting inspiration this afternoon, I found a small group of Catholic pamphlets and books...

Bible Stories for Little Children has the sweetest pictures in it.
With a copyright date of 1894, doesn't it make you wonder how painstaking it was to draw out every detail in what may have been pen and ink?

Here's a project update:
It's coming along slow, but hopefully will be done before Christmas :+)

Have a happy Monday ~
I'll see you again on White Wednesday!

Weekend Quote

Happy Weekend!
This is an old photo I purchased online years ago.
I dug it up and searched for the right lines to add to it.
This is what I came up with...An old Buddy Holly quote!
Don't you just love how these two posed with their accordions?
Were they in a band?

My first White Wednesday

Happy White Wednesday!
This is my first WW post. I've been looking forward to it ever since I decided to
get some cream of wheat, prepare it, and photograph it.
I've eaten this stuff since I was a kid. My mom used to make it with toast, and somtimes a few lumps :=)
Here are two versions: Faded color, and black and white.

A preview of what I'm working on lately...
I'll share it with you when it's finished :+)

Weekend Proverb

Hi lovelies!
I've been super busy lately, so there hasn't been much time for posting this past week, but...I am working on two projects simultaneously that I hope will turn out o.k., or a little better than o.k., o.k? :+D
I stopped in a local antique store yesterday and found this sweet vintage cabinet photo. Her coy smile made her unlike the rest, so I had to get her for today's weekend proverb.
Last night after showering, I found Mr. J dabbling with photoshop and changing her appearance with a some colorization. I simply loved what he did! She looks even more pretty than she did when I brought her home! I really must sit down and learn some of those photoshop techniques sometime.
If it's hard to read the writing on this photo, just click on the picture to enlarge.
Have a wonderful weekend!
See ya soon

Decorating with creams and a little rust

I did a little thrifting over the past weekend and found these...
Two bee boxes ( I love that I can't think of what to call them!) Bee boxes??!
O.k., you know what I mean. Also found this basket full of greenery and a few dried
flowers.
Yes, I turned it into a project, but it was simple to do.
Read on to see how it turned out...

Although the beehive and bees are really cute, I'm taking a more simplistic approach to decorating these days, so I'm using the other side, which is nicely rusted and the color is just right, too.

and this part was my favorite from the basket...Loved the color and the texture

So I put the two together...

And now they're here!
